The first of a rather long series of international junior tournament in the small town of Schilde, to the east of Antwerp. This edition saw no major future stars; Meulders probably reached the highest level, but he was still very young (14 years) during this tournament. Van Herck’s 2nd place was the best result ever by a Belgian in this series of tournaments. [1] has the final standings and almost all games.

Wanted

  • Three games from round 6.
