According to [1], this tournament was a charity event for hungry children in Europe. The time control was 1:30 for 30 moves and then 20 moves per hour. The Belgians didn’t do very well, but there was an important age difference: Boey was born in 1934, while Bouwmeester was born in 1929. Many of the names of the British players were provided by John Saunders of BritBase.
