From this year on, the Belgian chess federation started organising two tournaments: one exclusively for players with the Belgian nationality, this Belgian championship, and the championship of the federation, which was open to foreign members of the Belgian Chess Federation. Shortly after the second World War, Devos was one of the most active Belgian players – and one of the best, as he demonstrated in this tournament. Admittedly, some strong players, like Dunkelblum and O’Kelly, were missing.

[1] gives a number of games and the crosstable. The latter is corroborated by [2]. One more game fragment comes from [3]..[3] mentions that the games were played every day from 14:30 to 19:30 in Café des Arcades, Vogelmarkt 7. Adjourned games were played on the next morning from 09:00 to 13:00.
