For the third time, an international junior tournament was organised in Switzerland, with financial support by Agnes Litzenberger, a rich Swiss-American widow of a famous antiquary. Czechoslovakian Smejkal was clearly a category too strong for the rest of the field. Rooze held himself and finished in the middle of the table — far better than his Belgian predecessors Bonne and Willems.
