An astonishing performance by Alekhine. Euwe and Capablanca were missing and Lasker was more or less retired at this point – apart from them, the world’s best players were present and in this stellar field, Alekhine managed 15/16! The games are widely available; I took them form [2]. The crosstable was taken from [1] and [3] gave the dates. [4] gives the round-by-round results.
