This tournament started under the direction of Merten from East-Germany but apparently he died during the tournament and was replaced by his compatriot Winkler. My source gives Loeffler’s initial as M, but I suspect that might just be a misinterpreted abbreviation of French madame. I also have some doubts about Károly’s first name; as far as I know, Lajos is a male name.

Wanted

  • All the games.
  • Quite a few first names.
