[1] has the tables, [2] the games. Monaville’s game against Gornyak is missing, however, which leads me to conjecture that he either died or withdrew from the tournament quite early on. Yury Shteinsapir started in the final, but I think he died during the tournament. In any case, his games were cancelled. Note that the nationalities in the tables above are those at the beginning of the respective groups — or they should be, at least.

According to [1], the ¾-finals started on November 1st, 1989 and lasted until December 30th, 1996. The final started on November 1st, 1996 and lasted until August 31st 2002. It seems odds to me that the final started before all preliminaries had ended, but I presume the final standings were clear by that point. Maes qualified for the final in which he remained unbeaten; probably the best result by a Belgian in this tournament since Boey’s 2nd place in the 7th edition.
