The two main clubs of southern Belgium played two matches at the end of 1928. The Liège team had a few strong players in the first leg and won easily. But in the second leg, their strongest players were absent and they forfeited many games, which allowed Verviers to draw overall. The names, particularly on the lower boards, should be treated with some reservation. In contemporary sources, many appear with different spellings.
