Wostyn managed to win the national junior championship for the third time in a row, beating his two main competitors along the way. In the cadets’ section, the brothers Van Herck reigned supreme. Cornelis got a brilliancy prize for his game against Wertz. The tournament took place in the pavilion of the Keizerpark in Ghent.
