In these days, the Hastings and St Leonard’s Chess Club often went on tours through Western Europe. In this case, they played two matches in Belgium. The first one, against Brussels, they lost with a large margin, but the second they won no less convincingly. Surprisingly, their victory against Antwerp came about mainly on the top boards, where the Antwerp team was rather strong. It must be said, though, that for example Koltanowski and Dunkelblum were missing in the Antwerp team.

The match tables and most of the games come from [2]. [1] and [3] contributed one game each.
