De Jonghe qualified for the B final and shared first place there, finishing 11-12th out of 27 players: the best result by a Belgian in a world junior championship. Miles won the A final. [1] has the crosstables and some games, but many are still missing. I do not know what caused the byes in the preliminary round. My guess would be that two players, paired to Winston and De Jonghe respectively, didn’t show up. This still doesn’t explain what happened with Sunyé Neto. Perhaps he just arrived a day late.

Wanted

  • What happened in the preliminary?
  • Almost all games.
